Finland Expands its Wildlife Estates Network with Three New Certified Properties
Hosted at the beautiful Ahlstrom Estate in Noormarkku, the Finnish Landowners’ Summer Days celebrated a significant step forward for local conservation. During the event, the Finnish Wildlife Estates delegation officially introduced three new properties into its prestigious network.
The Wildlife Estates Label was awarded to Oitbacka Manor, a nationally significant cultural heritage site whose grounds also support a rich wildlife population, and Sauvala Manor, recognized for its outstanding hunting management and game-benefiting habitats such as wetlands and wildlife food plots. Joining them is Lisko Farm, a property steeped in Finnish history that champions nature management through organic farming, biodiversity-conscious forestry, and eco-friendly wetlands.
Earlier this year, the Wildlife Estates Label was also awarded to Paddais Manor. The manor is particularly known for its culturally valuable landscape, which is maintained with the help of Limousin cattle grazing on the farm’s shoreline pastures.
With these new additions, Finland now boasts 15 active Wildlife Estates encompassing an impressive 48,500 hectares of sustainably managed land. This growing footprint highlights the increasing commitment of private landowners to biodiversity and modern conservation in Finland. Nationally, the Wildlife Estates Label is proudly represented and championed by the Nature and Game Management Trust, which continues to bridge the gap between active land use and exemplary nature preservation.
