Behind the Scenes: Strategic Talks and Scientific Insights from Paris

Later that same day, the Scientific Committee held its meeting, marking an important moment with the election of its new chairman, Professor Klaus Hackländer. Klaus Hackländer studied Zoology at Philipps-University Marburg/Lahn and the University of Vienna. Today, he is a Full Professor of Wildlife Biology and Wildlife Management at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences in Vienna, where he also coordinates the master’s programme in Wildlife Ecology and Wildlife Management. With his extensive expertise, Professor Hackländer brings valuable knowledge and leadership to the Scientific Committee, guiding its future direction in biodiversity and conservation. The session sparked engaging discussions around our methodology and future challenges, laying strong foundations for the label’s continued evolution.

On the eve of the Symposium, the Wildlife Estates Steering Committee gathered at the prestigious Fondation François Sommer in Paris to reflect on the challenges ahead for the label. Strategic goals were discussed in depth, and a large majority of our European delegates were present to share their latest achievements and insights.
