Throwback to our latest events - Future for Rural Europe conference – From Ethical Land Management to Agrotourism Innovation
Last Friday, October 30th, the conference “Future for Rural Europe: From Ethical Land Management to Agrotourism Innovation” took place in Brussels at the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC). During the event, the European Erasmus+ project WESEM was presented to a large audience, highlighting the project’s mission to promote sustainable practices and the benefits of the Wildlife Estates Label.
We were honoured to welcome a distinguished panel of speakers — Stoyan Tchoukanov, Florian Claeys, José Antonio Parcha, and Alec Van Havre whose insights and expertise brought exceptional value to the day’s discussions. A special thanks goes to Delphine Dupeux for her moderation and to Pille Ligi for presenting the WESEM Training Platform, offering participants an in-depth look at the tools and educational resources developed through the project.
The conference provided a dynamic space for knowledge sharing, experience exchange, and cross-sector collaboration among professionals, educators, and policymakers. The central message was clear: Sustainable practices are essential for the future of rural Europe. Participants emphasized the need for a comprehensive approach involving all stakeholders, including younger generations, underscoring the importance of education as a driver of change. The Wildlife Estates label was presented as a powerful example of this vision, “we act for biodiversity”
